Our story

From academic research
to an emerging SME.

Dr. Shukla translated fundamental sperm-swimming research from a mouse model to a human model, building the foundation for Beezbiotech's sperm-selection technology.

The journey

Five years, one throughline.

2017-2018

Foundational research

Research into sperm motility begins, using a mouse model to study swimming behaviour through microchannels.

2019

Project MicroFSMA

An MSCA-IF fellowship from the European Commission funds the extension of this navigation study into a human model — achieving deeper insight into tooling that mimics rheotaxis and thermotaxis.

2021

Beezbiotech founded

Beezbiotech is officially founded in Rennes, France.

2022

EVA takes shape

Incubated via Le Poool and Biotech Santé Bretagne, the lab prototype for EVA technology was initiated and a patent was filed. Love money was secured through Dr. Fassini.

2023

Biological validation and capital raise

Capital is raised through stakeholders to advance EVA's biological validation. The lab prototype was validated through the RSM-1 and Inno R&D programmes.

2024

MicroBeaCh & growth

A Horizon Europe (MSCA-PF) grant is secured for MicroBeaCh (chemotaxis study); the team expands as Dr. Mehar Un Nissa joins Beezbiotech, which is also admitted to Le Village by CA. Patent protection extends to the EU, US, and China.

2025

Pre-seed raise

A pre-seed financing round closes, reflecting strong belief from our business angels in our technology and leadership. The French patent for EVA is granted, and prototype validation expands beyond Rennes.

2026 (Today)

Building toward the clinic

Credit is secured from Bpifrance. Dr. Arnaud Maury and Mr. Omar Saubry join the team. The industrial prototype is ready and EVA continues toward pilot-batch validation. See what's next →

Backed to build

Grants, credit, and belief in the science.

Every stage of EVA's development — from prototype to patent to biological validation — has been backed by public and private partners who share the same conviction: better selection changes outcomes.

>1.4M€

raised since founding, across public grants, regional credit, and private capital.

Backed by an ecosystem

We didn't build this alone.

Public and private partners across Brittany and Europe have supported EVA at every stage.

European Commission / Horizon

Funded MicroFSMA and MicroBeaCh, the two EU research projects behind EVA.

BPI France

Public financing and regulatory (Diag-Med) support for EVA's certification pathway.

Crédit Agricole

Banking partner and prototyping credit through our earliest development.

Le Village by CA

Accelerator that helped drive our pre-seed fundraising round.

Région Bretagne

Innov-R&D grant that funded EVA's validation in IVF clinics.

Biotech Santé Bretagne

Academic networking and grant-sourcing across Brittany's biotech cluster.

Atlanpole Biothérapies

Competitiveness-cluster network for academic and R&D-grant connections.

Horizon Booster

Supported our EU-project dissemination strategy following MicroFSMA.
